About Myself

I am Piya Bose — a corporate lawyer turned-travel entrepreneur and futurist,  finding new meaning in a world where glaciers are melting while machines awaken.

One part of me is Titanic’s Jack – romancing beauty and truth amidst icebergs at the edge of the world. And there is the other Jack – climbing up the A.I Beanstalk growing exponentially high – seeking answers to “giant” questions of A.I and Consciousness.

Journey So Far

WOMEN'S TRAVEL

I founded Girls On The Go (GOTG), an innovative women’s travel club in 2008 after a spontaneous journey across India–Nepal–Tibet. What began as a tiny experiment turned into one of the most innovative women’s intiatives globally  —  featured by Forbes, National Geographic Traveller, Condé Nast Traveller, Elle, Vogue, Al Jazeera and more. My TEDx talk on building GOTG on an innovative zero capital model in pre – social media world was recognised by Forbes amongst Top 9 Travel Talks globally.

Over the years, I have helped women live with nomads in Mongolia, meet headhunters in Nagaland, trek volcanoes in Reunion Island and go expedition cruising to Arctic and Antarctica.

A.I & PHILOSOPHY
Meanwhile, parallely another journey was unfolding — one into the nature of reality itself.

In 2014, two expedition cruises to the fragile, blue icebergs of Antarctica and Greenland birthed a new me. Travelling to two opposite, extreme frontiers of the habitable world in a short span, evoked deep existential questions about humanity’s future.

Same year, I unexpectedly found myself at a completely different frontier of Human – A.I Consciousness, while interviewing a highly intelligent humanoid robot at a tech conference.

The conversation surprisingly moved me and triggered a new curiosity to explore –
This led me to start “Cave of Plato“, a democratic forum where the common man’s curiosity meets expert insights of scientists and philosophers –
to decode the true nature of reality in an age of simulated realities.

My work now sits at the intersection of travel and futurism. Whether it’s icebergs in Antarctica or an invisible neural net inside a machine — I believe every frontier holds a doorway to a more awakened world

Is Hotel California about Silicon Valley?

Were the Eagles the George Orwell of music? Did they somehow ‘take a trip’ into our present age where we are (virtual) ‘prisoners of our own device’, courtesy tech giants at Silicon Valley, California?

There's Something about Sophia

Human beings may have turned cynical, but the world's first robot-citizen Sophia, who recently got legs, wants to fall in love. Piya Bose tells Pooja Bhula that her tete-a-tete with the bot was the most surreal experience.
